Maldon & Tiptree get plum FA Cup tie
They made history by reaching the first round proper for the very first time - now Essex non-league club Maldon and Tiptree have a plum draw in the Emirates FA Cup.
Now they're waiting to hear if their tie at SkyBet EFL League Two Leyton Orient in November will be selected for live television coverage.
The leaders of the Isthmian League North Division are managed by former Ipswich Town and Colchester United player Wayne Brown, and have so far won all their league and cup games this season.
They hosted the draw at their Park Drive stadium on Monday night, and certainly enjoyed their spell in the limelight.
Elsewhere in the First Round draw a case of deja vu for EFL League One leaders Ipswich Town.
They were first to be pulled out of the bag, and were paired with Lincoln City, no doubt evoking bad memories for Blues' supporters.
It was Lincoln, as a National League club, who knocked Ipswich out of the competition in the Third Round four seasons ago, as part of their record breaking run to the Quarter-Finals under Danny and Nicky Cowley.
There are potential banana skins awaiting Northampton Town and Southend United as they were each drawn away to non-league opposition.
Northampton will visit Chippenham Town, who play in the National League South. Southend have to travel to National League Dover Athletic
Stevenage and Peterborough United were among the last three clubs towards the end of the draw, with each club in with a chance of receiving a bye into Round Two.
But they were drawn together, leaving non-league Chichester City to go through. That opportunity was presented by Bury's expulsion from the Football League.
