'I've been sitting in a ditch for the last 10 years' - meet the artist won over by the beauty of the Fens

Now, what links an esteemed Fenland archaeologist and a successful Norfolk artist?

Well the answer is a shared love of the vast areas of farmland criss-crossed with drainage ditches - known as 'The Fens'.

Francis Pryor is best known for discovering the Flag Fen Bronze Age site near Peterborough in the 1980s - and his latest book features a landscape painting by artist Fred Ingrams on the cover.
