Pensioner arrested after man shot in arm

A pensioner has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was shot in Brandon near Thetford.

Police were called to an address just after 7.10pm in Pond Lane on Friday 11 October where a man in his forties had been shot in the upper arm. He was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not considered to be life-threatening.

The 78 year old man who was arrested has now been detained under the Mental Health Act. Police say the men are thought to have known each other.
