Half-century for Mrs Lollipop: long-serving lollipop lady marks major milestone
WATCH: ITV Anglia's Stuart Leithes went to meet Joyce Shaughnessy - Bedfordshire's longest serving lollipop lady.
Bedfordshire's longest serving lollipop lady has celebrated reaching 50 years in the role.
Joyce Shaughnessy has been helping children in the village of Ampthill get to school since 1969.
In that time she has seen eleven Prime Ministers, the fall of the Berlin Wall and England fail to win the World Cup on 13 occasions.
She said she had seen multiple generations of families cross in front of her.
The 78-year-old said: "Because I started when some of the children were 16 and 17-years-old, they're now great-grandparents. So I'm crossing them over as well - grandchildren and great-grandchildren."
