New campaign encourages parents to speak to children about their mental health

Parents are being urged to spend time talking to their children about their mental wellbeing.

It is one of the key messages from a new ITV campaign aimed at reducing the feeling of isolation.

A survey for YouGov, commissioned by ITV, found:

  • Nearly half of parents spend less than an hour talking to teenagers face to face.

  • One in five parents spend less than half an hour talking to their youngsters.

  • One in three children living at home don't get one to one time with their parents every day.
