The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain with the risk of thunder, lightning and gusty winds in parts of the Anglia region on Tuesday.

The Met Office says widespread rain is expected on Tuesday with some very heavy rain possible, bringing some disruption from flooding.

The yellow weather warning is in effect from 4am until 11pm on Tuesday 24 September 2019

What to expect

  • Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings

  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life and some communities may be cut off by flooded roads

  • Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible

  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

  • Possible power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses
