Building work has begun on a new prison in Wellingborough.

A ground-breaking ceremony for the £250 million facility has taken place with the Secretary of State for Justice Robert Buckland QC and Prisons Minister Lucy Fraser, the MP for South East Cambridgeshire.

It's being constructed on the site of the former Wellingborough prison and will house more than 1,500 offenders.

It will create jobs and training for 1,000 people.
