Jeremy Corbyn has reacted to the Tory's 'chicken suit' photo of him - calling it puerile and ridiculous - during a visit to Norfolk.

The Labour leader was visiting party supporters in Sprowston in the Norwich North constituency - one of the country's most marginal seats.

Despite refusing to back Boris Johnson's bid to hold a General Election until after a delay to Brexit has been confirm, Mr Corbyn said he was constantly on the campaign trail and was determined to return two MPs to Norwich whenever the next poll took place.

During his visit to Sprowston Methodist Church, he reacted to the image shared by the Conservative Party on Twitter showing the opposition leader in a chicken suit, claiming they had "found an even bigger chicken" than KFC.

The post has attracted widespread criticism - including from within the Conservative Party.

North East Bedfordshire MP Alistair Burt, who was deselected after voting against the government earlier this week, said: "Please stop this stuff. We are better than this."

But Braintree MP and party chairman James Cleverly seemed to condone it.
