Fewer people complain about noise from Luton Airport
The number of residents complaining about noise coming from Luton Airport has fallen by six per cent to just under 300.
The figures from the airport's Noise Monitoring Report looked at the second quarter of this year.
It comes as the number of flights increased by nearly 5% on the same period last year.
The number of new complaints, from residents who haven't previously lodged a complaint, also fell by a quarter.
However, the total number of complaints rose to 2,748.
The figures have been revealed as the airport publishes its second quarter Noise Monitoring Report for 2019.
In the quarter, Luton handled 38,129 flights, a 4.5% increase on the same period in 2018, while passenger numbers increased by 8.9% to 4.8 million throughout the quarter.
