Teenager jailed for Southend stabbing in 'violent daytime attack'

Dillion Tudor was charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

A teenager who stabbed a man in Southend, and left him with a punctured lung, has been jailed for six and-a-half years.

Dillion Tudor, 18, of Salisbury Avenue, Westcliff, attacked the victim, who is in his 40s, in Princes Court Avenue on December 23, 2018.

The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, including a pierced lung.

Tudor was charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place on Christmas Day.

At Basildon Crown Court on 18 June he pleaded guilty to GBH with intent.

At the same court today (Thursday 8 August) he was sentenced to six and-a-half years.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Chris Adam, from Southend CID, said: “This was a violent attack in the middle of the day just two days before Christmas.

“Dillion Tudor left the victim fighting for his life and, if circumstances had been different, he would have been facing a murder charge.

“The quick thinking of witnesses who saw the attack helped us to find and arrest Tudor shortly after the assault took place and that was important for us to bring him to justice.

“Tudor was a juvenile when he committed this crime but he will now be sentenced as an adult and faces some significant jail time.”
