Inmate guilty of attempted murder after attacks at three different prisons

An inmate has been found guilty of the attempted murder of two prison officers and a fellow inmate after a series of assaults behind bars.

Aklakur Rahman, from Ipswich, attacked an inmate at HMP Wayland near Thetford in 2017.

He went on to cut a prison officer in the hand during the attack.

In two other separate incidents, he lunged at the neck of an officer with a sharpened piece of wall masonry at HMP Lincoln and attacked another with a screw at HMP Wakefield a few weeks later.

Rahman is to be sentenced at a later date.
