A burst water main could make travel for Silverstone Grand Prix visitors even more difficult this weekend.

Police fear Mereway in Northampton could be closed for the next few days while Anglian Water workers try to fix the pipe.

It has caused significant flooding on the road which connects the A43 to the A45 at the south of the town.

The carriageway is closed in both directions and motorists are being urged to avoid the area.

David Leigh, who lives nearby, fears it will cause significant problems for traffic trying to get to the F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone.
