140 jobs at risk at Suffolk garden tools factory
The power tool maker Bosch is planning to transfer production from Stowmarket to Hungary with the potential loss of 140 jobs in Suffolk.
The site employs 250 people in the manufacture and development of garden tools.
The proposed restructuring would be from the end of 2019.
Bosch said the manufacturing facilities in Stowmarket have faced difficult business conditions for many years due to economic pressures from increased competition in the garden tools market.
Research and development would remain in Suffolk.
Bosch been in the UK since 1898 and with sales figures of £3.3 billion in 2018 the United Kingdom is currently Bosch’s largest European market after Germany and fourth worldwide.
