Luton Town announce new manager for Championship adventure

Luton Town Football Club have announced their new manager.

Former West Brom assistant boss Graeme Jones has agreed a three-year contract to take charge at Kenilworth Road until 2022.

The Hatters' today revealed his contract was signed back in February - before interim manager Mick Harford had confirmed the team's promotion to the Championship.

Despite Jones becoming free in March, Luton decided to honour its contract with Harford, who has a long-standing relationship with the club.

The 49-year-old Geordie is a former striker who enjoyed a 15-year playing career with the likes of Doncaster Rovers, Wigan Athletic, Southend United, Boston United and Bury in the Football League, as well as St Johnstone, Clyde and Hamilton Academical in Scotland, after working his way up from Non-League football with North Shields and Bridlington Town.

Hatters' chief executive Gary Sweet said Luton were delighted to be the first club that Jones would manage.
