Storm Gareth sparks strong wind warning in the Anglia region

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds on Tuesday and Wednesday as Storm Gareth sweeps in.

The Met Office says: "Strong west to northwesterly winds are expected during Tuesday night and Wednesday with possible transport disruption."

The warning is in force from noon on Tuesday 12 March until 3pm on Wednesday 13 March 2019

What to expect

  • Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer

  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely

  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible

  • It's likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities are affected by spray and/or large waves.
