Met Office snow and ice warning for Thursday and Friday
More snow is on the way for Thursday evening into Friday.
The Met Office says snow and ice may bring disruption to parts of England and Wales from Thursday afternoon through to early Friday.
The warning is valid from 1pm on Thursday 31 January to 1pm on Friday 1 February 2019
Another warning is in force for Norfolk and north Cambridgeshire which is valid from 6pm on Thursday 31 January to 12pm on Friday 1 February 2019
The south warning covering much of central southern England and Wales
Areas of snow are expected Thursday onwards into early Friday. Snow will slowly fade away during Friday.
Close to the south coast of England some rain is also expected. Any single period of snow is not expected to last more than 6 to 9 hours but some snow accumulations are likely with 1-3 cm likely in places within the warning area and the potential for 5-10 cm, perhaps particularly over Wales and southwest England.
Snow amounts will vary markedly across England and Wales with many places seeing very little accumulating snow, more so in East Anglia and the Midlands. Even where snow does not fall icy stretches are still to be expected.
Second warning issued for the East coast of England and Scotland reads
Showers will develop during Thursday night and continue into Friday morning falling as a mixture of rain, sleet and snow. Snow accumulations of 1-3 cm are possible in places by Friday morning. Ice is likely to form on some untreated surfaces.

There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel
There is a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off
There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected
There is a small chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
