More details have been revealed about plans for a Dutch style roundabout in Cambridge.

It'll be at the junction of Fendon Road and Queen Edith's Way and will mean vehicles have to give way to cyclists.

The government's given Cambridgeshire County Council half a million pounds to build it.

The council hopes the new roundabout will improve road safety after a number of accidents involving cyclists at the roundabout in recent years.

The new design, which is currently used in the Netherlands, gives cyclists priority. This means vehicles entering or leaving the roundabout arms must give way to them.

The design includes a red cycle lane around the edge of the roundabout, with cyclists segregated from motorists.

Work is due to start later this year.
