Northamptonshire drink drive arrests lower than 2017
The number of people who were caught drink driving during Northamptonshire Police's Christmas crackdown, has fallen slightly compared to 2017.
1,800 people were breathalysed and all those charged were named on their website, including the five they caught on Christmas Day.
72 were arrested for drink driving
16 for failing a roadside drug test
79 people were arrested for drink driving during the Christmas crackdown in 2017, falling by seven to 72 for the 2018 campaign.
But the number arrested for drug driving has risen, from six in 2017 to sixteen over Christmas.
The number of breath tests carried out by officers rose from 537 in 2017 to 1798 over Christmas 2018.
