Distressing image shows another seal suffering from effects of plastic pollution on Norfolk coast
A distressing image has emerged of another female seal found on the Norfolk coast with plastic netting around its neck.
Local photographer Paul Macro took the picture on a long zoom lens at Winterton and alerted local volunteers who are now attempting to rescue her.
Mr Macro said that finding the seal in such an upsetting state had "tarred" his visit, and urged anyone visiting the beach to respect the animal's space.
It's unknown whether the seal has been rescued in the time since the photograph was captured.
It comes after several other seals were discovered with similar injuries in the same area before Christmas.
One seal found with a frisbee around its neck was saved by the Friends of Horsey Seals group and taken to the RSPCA centre at East Winch, but at least four others are still struggling to survive in the wild.
