90-year-old fashion model receives British Empire Medal
Daphne Selfe from Hertfordshire has been modelling for seven decades, earning her the title of oldest professional model.
Born in 1928, she started modelling in 1949 after winning a fashion show competition. Since then, she has gone on to advertise everything from sausages, to gin and couture.
The professional model from Baldock has walked London Fashion Week catwalks and modelled for famous fashion houses such as Dolce & Gabbana and Yves Saint Laurent.
She shares her knowledge of the industry through a series of blogs and courses aiming to give confidence to people of all ages.
She founded The Daphne Selfe Academy in 2015 aiming to encourage woman of all ages to have confidence and improve themselves.
Now she is being awarded the British Empire Medal in the New Year Honours List for her services to women and fashion.
The world's oldest supermodel is not ready to hang up her designer boots just yet as she has two campaigns already shot for 2019.
