Cambridge United's new head coach Colin Calderwood hopes he can have an immediate impact with the SkyBet League Two strugglers, just days after being appointed.
The former Northampton Town boss takes charge of his first game on Saturday (December 21) at Morecambe.
It's his first full managerial post in seven years but Calderwood, who's worked as assistant boss to Chris Hughton while at Norwich City, said it wasn't a difficult decision to take the job.
Calderwood succeeds Joe Dunne who lost his job at the Abbey Stadium in late November. He will work alongside Mark Bonner, who was in interim charge for United's last three games.
Cambridge are just a point outside the bottom two in League Two, and while it's important to get his first win as soon as possible, Calderwood says it's vital they remove any fear from the dressing room as they go forward.
