Head Coach Joe Dunne has been sacked Cambridge United after the club decided poor results "dictated the need for change".

Mark Bonner, Assistant Head Coach, will take charge of the first team with immediate effect.

The process to recruit a successor is already underway.

Graham Daniels, the club's Director of Football, thanked Dunne for everything he had done.

Joe Dunne thanked the club for the opportunity and wished "all the staff, the players and the fans of Cambridge United every success for the future."

He leaves with Cambridge United 21st in League Two and having been dumped out of the FA Cup by non-league Guiseley.
