Motorists warned of A14 closure as bridge demolished
Motorists have been warned of delays as a section of the A14 is closed for the entire weekend. The stretch between Fenstanton and Bar Hill is shut today (November 17) and tomorrow (November 18) so crews can demolish the Swavesey bridge.
It'll take 6 excavators and 30 dumper trucks, 52 hours to get the job done.A 15-mile diversion is in place, forcing drivers off the A14 between junctions 26 and 31.
It's part of a 1.5 billion pound upgrade to 21 miles of road. Highways England say it'll be finished by the end of 2020.
