Stephen Hawking's wheelchair up for auction
Stephen Hawking's wheelchair is going under the hammer to raise money for his charity.
Along with it, an original copy of his thesis, his bomber jacket and a copy of his Simpson's script will go on sale from next week.
His iconic wheelchair will be sold to benefit the Stephen Hawking Foundation and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Collectors are expected to bid up to £150,000 for one of the five original copies of his PhD thesis.
It crashed the Cambridge University website when it was published online in October 2017.
He wrote it during the early stages of motor neuron disease and his wife Jane typed all 117 pages plus writing in the mathematical equations by hand.
The 22 lots will form part of a sale called "On the Shoulders of Giants: Newton, Darwin, Einstein, Hawking" which will run from October 31 to November 8.
A copy of ‘A Brief History of Time’ signed with his thumbprint and his personal papers are also up for sale.
