Jail for Norwich driver who rammed police car twice
A Norwich driver has been jailed for 16 months after ramming a police car twice during a chase.
On 1 February, two burglaries were reported to the police in North Norfolk. Police later caught up with a car thought to be linked to the crimes in Fakenham.
The police chased the vehicle for 20 minutes during which their car was rammed twice. They had to abandon the chase when it went onto the grounds of Taverham Hall School near Norwich.
The car crashed on Marriott's Way and police found stolen items which had been thrown over a hedge.
Shady Coates, 36, was jailed for dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and driving while disqualified. He was sentenced to 16 months in prison and given a 40-month driving ban.
