Campaign to re-open historic lock
Boaters in Cambridgeshire have started a campaign to get an historic lock re-opened to give them access to more of the Fenland waterways.
The Inland Waterways Association wants to see Welches Dam Lock near Chatteris repaired.
It has been closed for 12 years and is now clogged up with weeds
The waterway behind the lock is known as the Forty Foot Drain 'Horseway Arm'.
It's all part of the drainage system built by Dutch engineer Cornelius Vermuyden in the mid 17th century to create farmland.
