Corby firefighter seriously injured in hit-and-run
A firefighter from Corby, Northamptonshire was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in the town at the weekend.
Mark Hackett, a father-of-three, was returning from tackling a fire on August 11.
The crew stopped in George Street and while Mark was talking to a member of the public a car crashed into both of them.
Mark's colleagues who witnessed the collision had to administer first aid before he was taken to hospital.
The car was later found abandoned in Studfall Avenue.
It is thought the 32-year-old could be out of work for a year.
