  • Video report from 1994 by James Birtles

Tributes are being paid to the entertainer Barry Chuckle who's died at the age of 73.

Barry, whose real name was Barry Elliott, was most famous for being one half of the Chuckle brothers.

He and his brother Paul performed at many shows in our region over the years - including a production of Cinderella alongside the legendary Dora Bryan at the Cambridge Corn Exchange in 1994.

They also took to the stage at places like the Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth and the Norwich Theatre Royal.

"It is with great sadness that the family announce that Barry passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family," his manager Phil Dale said.

"The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have been fans of the Chuckle Brothers and they know that they will share in part the great, great loss they feel."
