Search resumes for missing swimmer

A search has resumed today of the River Great Ouse in Bedford after reports of a swimmer who got into difficulty.

The emergency services were called at around 4pm on Friday 27th July after a man was seen in the water near Harrold Lower School.

Police assisted by the fire service and police helicopter have been searching an area of the river, south of School Lane in Harrold.

Members of the public avoid the area of the river near to this location until further notice.
