The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the risk of scattered thunderstorms in parts of the Anglia region on Friday.

The Met Office says heavy thunderstorms are possible

This weather warning is in force from 2pm on Friday 27 July 2018 until 2am on Saturday 28 July 2018

What to expect

  • Flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds

  • Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services

  • Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

  • Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost

The weather warning was updated by the Met Office on Friday 27 July 2018

The warning has been updated to extend its area to cover parts of South East England and the rest of East Anglia.
