The Cambridge based charity Alzheimer's Research UK has teamed up with technology company Ricoh to help better understand the disease.

They are using 3D printing technology to create models of the brains with and without Alzheimer's.

A video narrated by actor Simon Pegg outlines how new technologies can be used by researchers to tackle the disease.

The initiative also includes a postcard campaign. For a donation of £1 a postcard printed with a personal photo to someone with Alzheimer's.

It aims to reduce the sense of isolation of those suffering from the disease.
