Man charged after four-year-old girl left with serious injuries in Maldon crash

A man has been charged in connection with a crash in Essex where a four-year-old suffered serious injuries.

The girl was hit by a blue BMW in Maldon at around 6pm on Sunday evening (June 24).

Witnesses reported seeing the car collide with a number of vehicles beforehand.

Two men were arrested at the scene, and Joseph Oliver, 29, from Wickham Bishops, has been now been charged with careless driving and failing to stop.

Another 27 year-old man who was also arrested has been told he will face no further action in relation to a number of driving offences.

The girl remains in hospital with serious injuries.
