An independent investigation is under way after more than 100 homes were flooded in Northampton.

Half a month's worth of rain fell in just half an hour on Sunday night, flooding homes and businesses.

The county council says it is offering "as much support and information as possible" alongside the borough council and Anglian Water.

The Delapre Community Rooms in Alton Road are open from 8.30am to 5pm for people seeking advice and information. The highways team is also working to repair damaged roads.

The council has commissioned a local specialist engineering and construction company to investigate the likely cause of the flooding and make any necessary recommendations. It will not investigate design solutions.

The independent investigation is likely to take several months to complete.
