Milton Keynes University Hospital has had to postpone operations today (May 29) after it was flooded.

Several parts of the hospital have been hit by floods caused by heavy downpours over the last two days.

Areas particularly affected include the emergency department, radiology, treatment centre and IT server rooms - with water ankle-deep in places.

The hospital had to divert ambulances away from its emergency department for a short while overnight.

The hospital said staff had been working round the clock to ensure that essential services at the hospital continue to operate as usual.
