Norfolk hospital finishes '1950s room' for dementia patients
Norfolk's biggest hospital has built a '1950s room' in a bid to help dementia patients' memories and make them more comfortable.
The room, on Kimberley Ward at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, features a ‘wireless’ radio, photographs, ornaments and 1950s decor.
It will be used as a relaxing space for dementia patients, with memories from the era encouraging them to reminisce.
It comes after the success of the Holt day room, which was completed in 2015.
The room was made possible by funding provided by the N&N Hospital Charity.
It will be opened by John Fry, Chair of the NNUH Trust on 24th May at 1pm who will enjoying a tea party with patients, carers, staff and volunteers.
