The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the risk of snow and ice in parts of the Anglia region overnight Sunday into Monday.

Inland snow could lie at 2-3 cm deep. The weather is expected to mean disrupted travel during the morning rush hour in some places.

The worst-hit areas of the Anglia region are expected to be in east Suffolk and east Essex.

The weather warning is in effect from 8pm on Sunday 4 February until 10am on Monday 5 February 2018

The Met Office says wintry showers are expected to affect southeast England through Sunday night and Monday morning.

Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

Some icy patches are likely to develop on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Norfolk and north Cambridgeshire are covered by a weather warning for ice which is in force from 6pm on Sunday until 10am on Monday.

The Met Office says icy patches are likely to form on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, bringing a risk of injuries from slips and falls as well as difficult driving conditions.

In addition, wintry showers may produce a light covering of snow in places by Monday morning.
