Work begins on £3.5m revamp for Ipswich's Cornhill
The £3.5m transformation of Ipswich's town square has begun.
It's hoped the 'Cornhill Project' will be a big boost to business - with new seating, arches, paving and a water feature aiming to make the area an 'attraction in its own right'.
The scheme's being led by the Ipswich Vision Group and the borough council. It should be finished by October.
The project is being funded by Ipswich Borough Council, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, Suffolk County Council and Ipswich Central.
It means there will be a move for the Ipswich town centre market.
Stallholders will be located by the side of the town hall, just a few metres from their old home, and stretch down to Giles Circus and into Queen Street.
