Charity rehoming scheme saves chickens from slaughter

A charity has held a special event in Cambridgeshire to rehome chickens that would otherwise have been sent for slaughter.

The British Hen Welfare Trust finds homes for hens from commercial egg farms - and their new owners were able to collect them from the Wood Green Animal Shelter near Huntingdon.
