Luton Town boss Nathan Jones has been nominated for the League Two Manager of the Month award for a third successive month.

The Hatters have been in sensational form and are currently four points clear at the top of the division.

Jones won the prize in both October and November and will have to see off competition from Port Vale’s Neil Aspin, Lincoln City’s Danny Cowley and Colchester United's John McGreal if he's to land the award for a third time.

Luton picked up 10 points in December, with a 4-0 defeat at Port Vale putting a bit of a black mark on their record, while Colchester recorded 11 points.

Hatters defender Alan Sheehan has also been nominated for the player award, where he is joined on the shortlist by Colchester United midfielder Sammie Szmodics.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a £1m move to Premier League side Bournemouth after scoring 11 goals in League Two this season.

Morecambe’s Callum Lang and Lincoln City striker Matt Rhead have also been put forward.

The winners will be revealed on Friday.
