The Environment Agency says heavy rain is currently falling in the River Nene catchment and will continue throughout Wednesday morning.

This is causing River Nene to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through the day.

Floodwater has been causing problems on roads in Norfolk and Suffolk, with motorists being told to avoid the A1067 at Sparham Hill near Fakenham due to heavy rainfall in the area, while Roughton Road in Thorpe Market was also flooded.

It was a similar story in Scarning near Dereham where water accumulated under a bridge - making it extremely difficult for vehicles to pass.

There are more than a dozen of the less severe Flood Alerts in force in other parts of the Anglia region and details can be found on the Environment Agency website.
