Surge in demand for student paramedics
There has been an increase in demand for student paramedic places on a course at the University of Bedfordshire in Luton.
The trainee are thrown into mock medical emergencies staged to be as realistic as possible.
A mannequin may be the patient in all other aspects an emergency scenario is about as real as it gets.
These student paramedics will work out just what has happened and decide on most appropriate treatment.
As the situation unfolds the level of response is increased.
With more colleagues arriving the team must work together in cramped conditions.
It's one of many assessments during the course.
