Runaway balloon crash lands in car park
A hot air balloon came "plummeting from the sky" after taking off when the occupant got out and failed to secure it to the ground.
The balloon left office workers bewildered as it crash landed in a car park, with no sign of the pilot.
It was found at Cambridge Research Park in Waterbeach with its gas canister still running and smoke billowing from inside.
Jack later took to Twitter and said: "Anyone know who dumped their hot air balloon in my works car park?"
Emergency services were called at around 11am on Monday but "no firefighting action was needed" and no injuries were reported.
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: We were called with reports of a hot air balloon having crashed into the side of a building.
"It was unmanned - the occupant had got out of the balloon but failed to secure it sufficiently and it took off unmanned, and then fell back to land."
The incident has been referred to the Civil Aviation Authority for investigation.
