Hopes that a pupils' day at RAF Marham will help keep the UK at the frontline of engineering
See Kate Prout's report from RAF Marham here
Pupils from seven schools across Norfolk and Suffolk spent a day at RAF Marham for a STEM (Science Technology Engineering Maths) event. The aim was to provide students with the opportunity to see first-hand how equipment used on base links in to STEM subjects. Year 10 students from Nicholas Hamond Academy, Springwood High School, Northgate High School, Dereham Neatherd High School, Smithdon High School, Downham Market Academy and Bury St Edmunds County Upper School learnt how the Tornado jet is built, how survival kits are created and the mechanics of machine guns.
