Family's tribute to man stabbed in the heart
A man who died from a stab wound to the heart has been described as a "big and unique" personality by his family.
Chris West, 30, was stabbed outside a pub in Cambourne in Cambridgeshire on Saturday 28 October.
In a statement, Mr West’s family said: “Anyone who knew Chris knows exactly what should be written here.
“No amount of words would ever describe the loss of such a big and unique personality, whose immeasurable love for his wife, family and friends leaves us all with the most treasured memories."
Officers were called to reports of violence in Monkfield Lane at 12.35am. They found two people had been stabbed.
Mr West, who was from Cambourne, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem carried out by Dr Fitzpatrick-Swallow revealed Mr West died as a result of a stab wound to the heart.
The other victim, a 26-year-old man, was initially taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with life threatening injuries.
He was later transferred to Papworth Hospital and is expected to be discharged in the next couple of days.
Kai Nazir, 19, of The Crescent, St Neots appeared at Peterborough Magistrates Court on October 30 charged with murder and grievous bodily harm with intent.
He has been remanded and will appear at Cambridge Crown Court today (October 31).
