A Norwich MP has apologised "unreservedly" after a video of him telling someone to "get on your knees b****" emerged.

The political website Guido Fawkes released the short clip which shows Clive Lewis addressing a crowd at an event for left-wing campaign group Momentum during the party conference season.

The video has attracted widespread criticism from top Labour party members including former deputy leader Harriet Harman, ex-leadership contender Yvette Cooper and Birmingham MP Jess Phillips.

Speaking to ITV News Anglia today (Friday), Mr Lewis, the MP for Norwich South, said he had intended it as a light-hearted remark to a male colleague - but admitted there was no excuse for what he had said.

He also posted an apology on Twitter.

The video has been viewed hundreds of times and condemned by many.
