Five years after a house fire killed six members of the same family in Essex, their neighbour says people living nearby need to see justice done.

Sabah Usmani and her five children - Hira, 12, Sohaib, 11, Muneed, nine, Rayyan, six, and three-year-old Maheen - died in the blaze at Barn Mead in Harlow on October 15 2012.

Only the children's father, Abdul Shakoor, survived. He jumped out of the window to try to get help for his wife and children but was unable to save them.

Five years on, no one has been charged with starting the fire and causing all six deaths.

Shaun Russell lived across the road from Dr Shakoor and his family. He said very little information had come out in recent years and the community was still desperate for answers.

Police investigating the fire still believe answers lie in the community.

The emergency services said it was one of the most difficult cases they had dealt with.

Memories of that night are still painfully clear for Mr Russell.

Following the fire, a £10,000 Crimestoppers reward was offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Special services were held at schools where the children attended and five memorial benches were installed in memory of them.

In 2013, Dr Shakoor renewed an appeal for information.
