Police have closed the Sixteen Foot Bank while they investigate what happened

One person's died after a car left a Fenland road and went into a river.

Cambridgeshire Police have closed Sixteen Foot Bank near Chatteris while they investigate how the crash happened.

Officers say they were called just before 9am after a blue Rover went into the water and rolled over.

It's thought two people managed to escape, but a third was trapped in the car and has died.

The others are thought to be shocked, though the extent of their injuries are not known.

Police investigators are at the scene of the crash, which appears to have happened at a sharp bend in the B1098.
