Man charged following fatal crash in Bungay more than a year ago

A man in his 50s has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in Suffolk last year.

42-year-old pedestrian Shane Lay was walking along Bridge Street in Bungay at around 1.40am on Friday 13 May 2016, when he was involved with a collision with a Nissan Qashqai car which failed to stop.

Mr Lay was taken to Addenbrooke's, but died the next day.

Andrew Saunders from Halesworth has now been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and appeared before Magistrates in Norwich on Thursday.

He's now been scheduled to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday 26 October.
