Care home worker admits raping elderly patient
A 29-year-old care home worker from Ipswich has been jailed after admitting the rape of an elderly woman resident.
Radu Mut, of Norwich Road, Ipswich, initially denied the offence, but later changed his plea to guilty.
The victim, a woman in her 70s and a resident at a care home in Saxmundham, was subjected to a series of sexual advances by Mut who was working as a care assistant at the time.
He was helping the victim take a shower, when he attacked her.
Detective Inspector Simon Bridgland said
Muts has been jailed for seven and a half years as well as being given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to sign on the sexual offenders register indefinitely.
