The summer transfer window officially shut last night, meaning that clubs will now have to go with what they've got until January.

Many of our clubs did manage to get some last-minute business done, while others will have been happy to keep their prized assets.

Here's our look at all the late moves.

  • Ipswich Town

Following a series of injuries to defenders, Ipswich were in the market for new recruits at the back and they managed to get one right at the death in the shape of Everton's Callum Connolly.

The 19-year-old right-back signed on loan for the campaign in the final hour of the window and has previous Championship experience having impressed in a similar spell with Wigan Athletic last season.

Town boss Mick McCarthy was also hoping to bring in Brighton and Hove Albion centre-back Connor Goldson on loan, but the deal through late in the day when the Seagulls were unable to find a replacement.

  • Norwich City

It was a quiet deadline day for Norwich City who had completed their business earlier in the week with the capture of Newcastle United centre-back Grant Hanley.

The Canaries will have been delighted to have kept hold of star striker Nélson Oliveira though who was the subject of interest from Swansea City, Reading and Wolves.

Left-back Harry Toffolo and young centre-back Michee Efete were both allowed to leave on loan to Doncaster Rovers and Torquay United respectively, while Norwich did make one signing for the future with 20-year-old Belgian striker Pierre Fonkeu joining up with their under 23s.

Outs: Harry Toffolo (loan until January), Michee Efete (loan until January), Agust Hlynsson (Brondby, undisclosed fee)

  • MK Dons

If it was quiet for Norwich, the same certainly couldn't be said for MK Dons.

They brought in three new players before the deadline with Bristol City left-back Scott Golbourne joining on loan until January, and midfielders Alex Gilbey and Aidan Nesbitt moving to Stadium MK from Wigan Athletic and Celtic respectively.

There was a departure too as centre-back Paul Downing was given the go ahead to complete a season-long loan switch to League One rivals Blackburn Rovers.

Outs: Paul Downing (Blackburn Rovers, season-long loan)

  • Colchester United

Ryan Inniss was one of five deadline day arrivals at Colchester.

The other big movers were Colchester United who added five players to their squad before the window slammed shut.

Former Bolton Wanderers winger Sanmi Odelusi arrived on a free transfer, while four new loan players also made the switch to Essex.

Crystal Palace defender Ryan Inniss joined for the season, and similar deals were completed for QPR midfielder Brandon Comley, Portsmouth striker Nicke Kabamba and Charlton Athletic forward Brandon Hanlan who will all stay in Essex until January.

  • Best of the rest

Peterborough United's best business was persuading influential winger Marcus Maddison to sign a new three-year contract.

The 23-year-old had previously made it clear he didn't see his future at Posh and had attracted admiring glances from Championship clubs.

Cambridge United left it late to bring in Mansfield Town centre-back George Taft on loan until January. The 24-year-old has signed up for a second spell with the U's having previously played for them back in 2015.

The biggest departure at Northampton Town was that of their manager Justin Edinburgh who was dismissed after a poor start to the season, but the Cobblers did still manage to sign QPR goalkeeper Matt Ingram on a season-long loan deal.

Stevenage were also busy, with Chelsea youngster Charlie Wakefield and Scunthorpe United striker Kyle Wootton joining on loan, but there was no business involving Southend United.

Luton Town swooped for Basingstoke Town striker Aaron Jarvis, while 18-year-old midfielder Tyreeq Bakinson moved to Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.
